Maintenance & Cleaning

Simple, tool-free cleaning:
(1) Relieve pressure, disconnect lines.
(2) Unscrew end cap (hand-tight, no tools).
(3) Remove the element.
(4) Clean with brake/carb cleaner or air from inside out to dislodge particles.
(5) Check O-ring, replace if needed (spares included).
(6) Reassemble, hand-tighten cap, reconnect lines.
Recommended service: 10,000 km (street) or each race weekend; element lasts hundreds of cleanings without performance loss.

A: For street vehicles, every 10,000 km (6,000 miles) or at each oil change interval. For competition vehicles, clean after each race weekend. In dusty environments or with older fuel tanks, more frequent cleaning may be necessary. A noticeable drop in fuel pressure at high RPM is a sign the element needs cleaning.

Q: Is 10 microns fine enough for EFI systems?

A: Yes. Most EFI fuel injector manufacturers specify 10-micron filtration as the minimum requirement. The 304 stainless steel element provides 10-micron nominal filtration (capturing particles ≥10 microns with high efficiency), which is sufficient to protect modern high-impedance and low-impedance injectors from contamination-related failure.

Q: Can I use this filter with E85 or methanol?

A: Yes. All wetted components—6061-T6 aluminum, 304 stainless steel, Viton (FKM) O-rings—are fully compatible with ethanol, methanol, and ethanol-blended fuels including E85. The Viton seals are specifically selected because standard NBR (Buna-N) O-rings swell and degrade when exposed to ethanol and methanol over time.

Q: What sizes are the AN fittings?

A: The kit includes three pairs of adapters covering AN6, AN8, and AN10 sizes. The housing ports themselves are threaded for AN8/AN10. If your fuel system uses a different AN size, reducer fittings are available separately. Contact us to configure a custom fitting set if your system uses AN4, AN12, or mixed sizes.
