How the Sandwich Plate Works

The sandwich plate installs between the oil filter and its housing, using the filter mounting thread to hold it in place. Oil is routed out of the engine through one port, through the braided line to the cooler, and back through the return line, while filtered oil continues to pass through the filter exactly as before. Because the plate replaces the normal sealing surface of the filter, there is no oil pan modification, no drilling and no welding. If the kit is later removed, the plate comes off and the engine returns to stock condition, which makes the upgrade fully reversible and suitable for leased vehicles.

Keep clearance around the fins, avoid stacking the cooler directly against the radiator or condenser, and let the supplied bracket hold the core firmly so vibration does not fatigue the hoses or fittings. During a track day or a long mountain run, check the connections after the first session and monitor oil temperature to confirm the kit is doing its job. If an oil temperature gauge is fitted, the improvement is visible on the gauge almost immediately.
